  • Is there a Change Management “designation” or “certification” Standard?

    Change Management is an emerging profession and the Association of Change Management Professionals (ACMP) is leading an initiative to establish standards for a Change Management Certification and, in time, maintenance of professional designation. That process is very well underway and input has been encouraged from all interested individuals currently working in or interested in a career and designation in Change Management – not unlike the established professional designation in Project Management.
    Until standards have been approved and introduced by the ACMP, an initiative we at Prosci Canada endorse, and, perhaps after more general standards are being rolled out, graduates of the Prosci 3-Day Change Management Certification Program should continue to include this competency and certification in their CVs and may elect to use “CM (Prosci Methodology) Certified" where ever appropriate.

    The 3 day program is approved for 23 Instructional hour's towards ACMP designation, and 24 PDU's from the Project Management Instutute (PMI).

  • What is the Prosci Methodology?

    The Prosci Change Management Process is a planned, systematic approach designed to take the organization through three distinct phases – preparing for change, managing change and reinforcing change.

    The Prosci Change Management Process is based on best practices research from over 2600 companies worldwide that lends huge credibility and support to its change management methodology. It has been heralded as the “best-of-the-best” by end-user organizations that find the methodology to be: 

    Comprehensive – as it addresses the change at all levels within the organization, from the top executives to the front-line employees.

    Proactive – as it prepares the organization to anticipate resistance before it arises and assess gaps in ability.

    Simple – as it is easy to apply within the organization. The variety of tools, assessments, templates, checklists provide the user with 1) a step-by-step approach throughout the process 2) a framework for evaluating progress.

    Integrative – as it is designed to integrate with Project Management.

    Customizable – as it allows the organization to scale their change management effort according to the size and complexity of the change.

  • What is Change Management?

    "Change management is the application of a structured process and tools to enable individuals or groups to transition from a current state to a future state, such that a desired outcome is achieved."

  • Is there an exam at the end of the 3-Day Certification Program?

    Yes, there is an exam that you are required to pass for you to receive your certification.  

  • Do you give a discount for ACMP Members?

  • Will this program qualify for PDU’s towards ACMP designation

    Prosci Canada recently gained the Qualified Education Provider™ status from
    the Association of Change Management Professionals® (ACMP®) for its 3-Day Change Management Certification Program. ACMP’s goal is to advance the discipline of change management.
    The QEP status signals to our clients that our course aligns with ACMP’s Standard for
    Change Management© (The Standard) and adult education best practices. As it is a
    generally accepted approach to change management, aligning to The Standard provides
    a solid base for change management education and knowledge. Our course also adheres
    to best practices in instructional design and delivery, ensuring our clients have an
    opportunity to apply what they learn.

    For all our participants seeking ACMP’s Certified Change Management Professional™ (CCMP™)
    accreditation, taking our QEP course will ensure a quicker review process for your
    application as well as help you prepare for the related CCMP exam.

  • What is the Public Program Cancellation Policy?


    Tuition is fully refundable up to 30 calendar days before the program start date (less any credit card processing/merchant fees if applicable) or transferable to another session date. Within 15 to 30 calendar days of the program start date, tuition is nonrefundable and 75% can be transferred to a subsequent session (25% change fee). Within 14 calendar days of the program start date, tuition is nonrefundable and 50% can be transferred to a subsequent session (50% change fee). All cancellation/transfer requests must be received in writing (send email to


    These terms will vary by venue.   Prosci Canada contracts with each of the venues to ensure we have sufficient spaces for our participants.  One month prior to the program you will responsible for the full package cost in the event of cancellation prior to this meeting or your failure to attend the meeting. You must agree to these terms to complete your reservation.  That said, we will do our best to accommodate reasonable changes when at all possible.

  • What is the On-Site Program Cancellation Policy?

    In order for Prosci Canada to prepare adequately for a course and book the correct instructor and travel arrangements, we ask that course dates be finalized 45 calendar days prior to the program start date.  Any changes made between 45 days and 30 calendar days will be subject to a $1,000 administration fee and payment for prearranged travel and lodging (with exception to those travel arrangements that are refundable or when lodging can be cancelled without penalty).  Changes made between 30 days and 15 days prior to the program will be charged for nonrefundable travel plus 50% of course costs.  Changes within 14 days to the start of the course are billed the entire course, travel, lodging and shipping amount (only product costs less applicable shipping charges, are refundable).

  • I am attending the certification program but I have to miss some time, will I still be certified?

    The Certification process has a number of specific requirements. One of them is “Active participation" throughout the 3 Days of the program. Missing even 1 or 2 hours may put your abiliity to receive the Certification at risk. More specifically, both Prosci and the PMI require a 95% attendance rate for certification or for “credits” respectively.

    Adult learning research and experience have taught us that “active and visible participation” are essential to your gaining a full understanding of change management principles and best practices in general and Prosci’s Change Management Methodology and Tools in particular. So, while rare exceptions occur, you must meet this requirement to actually obtain your “Change Management Certified – in the Prosci CM Methodology” certificate.
    As you will discover, the Certification Program is an intensive professional development and learning experience and each session builds on the previous ones. Missing even 1 or 2 hours can be a frustrating experience for you and may result in your not meeting the “active participation” requirement for certification at the end of the program.  

    If you feel you may have to be away from the training session for a short period of time you are encouraged to contact your instructor (or the office) prior to the start of the program to consider, together, the possible impact of an unavoidable absence.

  • What are the Computer Requirements?

    It is best when everyone brings his or her own laptop to the program, but as a minimum at least one member of each team will require a laptop for completion of the change management planning work.  Your laptop will need to have a USB drive, as well as Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, MSWord and Excel).  Please let us know in advance if you are working on older versions (i.e.: 2003 and older) of Microsoft as you may experience issues with some of the assessments.  At this point tablets do not have the functionality required during our program.

    Both ECM and 3 Day Certification Particicipants will need to be able to connect to Wi-Fi during the program as some of the work is accessed online.

  • Can I use my tablet instead of a laptop during our 3 Day Certification Program?

    Not at this time.  In the current program desgin we use PowerPoint, Word and Excel extensively throughout the program and we find that tablets do not have the necessary functionality.

  • Why have the prices increased?
    • We have combined the tuition and accommodation package to give registrants the full cost of these residential programs.
    • We have 2016 Best Practices report which provides more details from the research.
    • We have a new online Practitioners eToolkit.
    • The change in price also reflects the higher US Dollar.  (we purchase materials form the US)
  • What is the dress code for Public Program?

    The Dress Code is casual.  We want everyone to be comfortable.  We try our best to keep the room temperature comfortable for everyone - but it's best if you dress in layers.  

  • I am attending a Public Program, do I have to stay at the venue?

    This is perhaps the most intensive professional development "immersion" in Change Management that you will experience.  You'll work through tightly scheduled days plus evening sessions and activities.  So to allow for a focused and uninterrupted learning experience, participants are required to stay in residence at the training venue. Like many universities do with their summertime executive programs.
    We know that this adds to the total cost and, for this reason, every effort is made to ensure the best value pricing for hotel (venue) and meal packages so you can participate fully in a high quality and productive learning experience.  The feedback from participants, as they head for home at the end of their training, say that they completely understand the residency requirement.

  • Is there any funding available for your programs?

    You or your organization may be eligible for funding under the Canada Job Grant.

  • I am attending a Public Program, what is included in the Accommodations Package?

    Our accommodations packages include three days accommodations, all meals, snacks and activites.

    Parking normally is not included.

  • I am attending a Public Program, will I have free time during the program?

    Our program is very intensive and as such we will keep you busy for the entire three days.  We have the Meet and Greet dinner the evening before the program so everyone can meet and get acquainted and then two other evening events.  This is an immersion in Change Management and as such there is little time for other activities for the duration of the program.

  • I am attending a Public Program, can I bring family or friends along?

    You may, however it is important to note that you will not have much “spare time” to spend with them.  Please contact our office about any charges relating to having extra people coming along.

  • I am attending a Public Program, can I extend my stay?

    You can certainly extend your stay.  Please contact the hotel to make arrangements.
